Was the divorce a result of abuse or some other criminal activity on the part of either party?  It may not end the relationship, but it can’t hurt to know if a violent former spouse is likely to turn up at your door.

Most importantly, you can get confirmation that the person you think is cheating on you now, has cheated before.  It’s not proof of current activity, but it helps.

You can seek help you locate divorce court records.  The more information you can provide, the more effective this search will be.  Ideally, if you know your current partner has been married before, you will be able to provide data on the former partner and when and where the divorce took place.

You can also do a complete background check, which will bring up the history of any prior marriages and depending on the details, may help you determine the reason for dissolution.  If not, the background check will help you locate public records pertaining to the divorce by providing more data to fill in.

You may find it far more convenient to use an excellent information retrieval system rather than a search engine that forces you to do most of the work.  If you need your divorce court records quickly, this will also be to your advantage.

Red Flags to Look Out For
Money. Unexplained changes with your financial situation are the biggest red flag. Any sort of money that can’t be accounted for whether it’s lost or gained could be an indication of criminal activity.

We tend to be more forgiving when unexplained money appears in our bank account then when it disappears, but don’t let the excitement of found money lull you into a sense of ambivalence.

People may be more inclined to pursue nefarious sources of income in this difficult economic climate. Just because you may be willing to come to terms with the fact that your spouse isn’t making as much money as they used to, doesn’t mean that they have come to terms with it, too. The sad truth is that people often will do things to support their family that their family would rather they did not do.

Indications of Suspicious Behavior
A changing sets of friends. When you don’t see your spouse’s old friends anymore or they have new friends that you never get to meet, it should be a cause for concern.

For example, changes in temperament and increased sensitivity to questions are indicators of hiding something. If you ask your spouse where they were going and it’s an evasive battle to get information, this could also be a red flag.

That includes your cars, house or any other property. Start with a background search. There is a chance that something from the past could show up or if your spouse is hanging out with a group of people you don’t know anything about, there is an even better chance something could show up on their records.
